1. How does it work?
The Digital Door Viewer's main components are an LCD
monitor and digital camera. The camera is mounted on the exterior of a
door and the LCD directly opposite on the inside. A sharp, color image is
sent from the camera to the monitor whenever the power button is pressed.
2. How is it powered?
The Door Viewer runs on 8 standard "AA" size batteries. It
is completely self-contained and requires no external wiring or
connections.
3. How long
do the batteries last?
The product is "on" only when the operator is pressing the
power button. This period of time is a "viewing cycle" and averages 5
seconds in length. The battery life is approximately 1000 viewing cycles.
In typical operation, the battery replacement frequency is one year.
4. Is it easy to install?
The Digital Door Viewer is very easy to install.
Installation requires only a common power drill. A hole is drilled in the
door exterior for the camera and the monitor is attached to the inside
using self-tapping screws. The installation kit comes with an easy
to follow installation guide. Time for installation is typically
less than 10 minutes.
5. How big is it?
The LCD panel mounted on the inside of the door has a
5.6inch viewing area in an 8.5 inch wide by 5.5 inch high frame. This is
the largest viewing area of any door viewer! On the outside, the
camera is mounted in a flat circular housing with a diameter of just 3/4
of an inch.
6. Can I retrofit it on an existing
door?
Yes, the Door Viewer can be installed in any standard
door. The door can be hung or not. Any existing peephole is first removed.
The Digital Door Viewer can be installed in doors from 1-1/4 inch to 4
inches thick
7. Can I buy a door with the viewer
in it already?
Not currently. Similar to door hardware such as locks and
hinges the Door Viewer is supplied separately.
8. How hard it is to use?
The Door Viewer is simple to use. Just press and hold the
clearly labeled power button on the monitor for a distortion-free view.
9. Can the Door Viewer be used behind
Glass Storm or Screen Doors?
The Door Viewer camera is extremely high quality with
advanced design that delivers excellent images even when looking though
glass or screens.
10. Who is First View Security?
First View Security designs and manufactures original
electronic imagery products for homes, apartments, condominiums, hotels,
offices and commercial properties.
11. What is the Door Viewer Warranty?
First View Security warrants its products to be free from
defects in material and workmanship for one year after original purchase.
If a product proves to be defective in material or workmanship during the
warranty period, First View Security will repair or replace the product
with a similar product.
